Before and after waterproofing with EPDM Rubbercover.
EPDM is recognised by Greenpeace as the only environmentally friendly flat roofing product. (Building the Future 1996). Also the UK Government have recently instructed Government Estate Managers to take account of whole life costs and specifically recommended EPDM for flat roofs. Additionally, a report by ACTAC (the Association of Community Technical Aid Centres) named EPDM as the 'best buy' roofing membrane due to its' low environmental impact in comparison to other membranes, high durability and re-usability.
Finally introduction to flat roofing with EPDM is complete without a mention of green roofs. These are roofs planted with plant life. PERMAROOFING has waterproofed more than 1000m2 of roofs that now are finished with sedum or grass in the last 12 months. It is thought that the planning authorities will soon begin to insist that new flat roofs are green in the necessary emphasis on the environment.
